Inspired by nature, I aim to create art that breaths harmony into a space. I love studying the tides, watching the water pull back and forth, weaving in and out. I strive to capture that fleeting moment of magic between the waves—the moment of transformation between crest and trough.
By exploring the duality of yin and yang moments in nature, I try to express movement and life with my pieces. Before completing a piece, I will often create and destroy it a few times until satisfying a dynamic interplay of opposing, yet complimentary gestures. Through this process of creation and destruction, the piece becomes a meditation of exploring and understanding the interconnectedness of everything.Carlie Stracka studied Sculpture at USC Roski School of Fine Art and Design and ANU School of Art and Design in Canberra, Australia
