*In the Flower Brain series, I overlapped and manipulated vintage imagery along with old botanicals, birds, and butterflies to bring out organic beauty. As the series progressed, I found that most of the female imagery (pinups in particular) - while provocative and beautiful - often depicted women in an objectified way. In order to present a more positive and modern representation of women, I visually altered their stances and environment in order to empower and uplift them; owning their beauty, in harmony with nature.
